Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) is a 2,800- enclave in Edgewater, MD overlooking the Chesapeake Bay offering hiking trails, a museum, and marshlands.  This will be the fourth straight year that we have done this hike with the Maryland Interstate Hiking Association.  There will be a 15-minute presentation by staff, then your choice of a 1-mile leisurely walk on a wooden walkway overlooking the bay led by Susan Eberhard; a more extensive hike into the surrounding woodlands led by John Eberhard or a 4-mile hike led by Fran Herron from MIHA.  Around noon, the group will go to Mike’s Crab House located at 3030 Riva Road, Riva, MD  21140 for a delightful lunch.  For menu, go to mikescrabhouse.com.  Phone (410)956-2784.  We should be home around 2:00 p.m.

Meet at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center; the Meeting House at 5885 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD  21045 at 9:00 AM to form carpools.  If driving on your own, plan to be at SERC at 9:45 AM to be in time for the staff presentation.  SERC is located at 647 Contee Wharf Road, Edgewater, MD  21037

Registrations due October 4, 2018
