Thursday Talk and Walk, Orange Grove Pavilion, 1PM

Thursday Talk and Walk is a social gathering to a different place every Thursday to introduce members to interesting places in Howard County and to create a social vehicle to get to know each other better. We may go for coffee afterwards. It is open to all and no registration is required. If the outdoor temperature is below 40 degrees or it is raining/snowing, we will meet in the Mall in Columbia on the second level near Macy’s.
The Thursday Talk and Walk for July 23, is at the Orange Grove Pavilion in the Patapsco Valley State Park. The entrance to the park is on US Route 1 in Elkridge. Take I 95 North to I 195 toward the Airport. Stay right for a short distance and exit onto US Route 1 South. From Route 1 take the first right onto South Street (Small State Park Sign) and an immediate left into Patapsco State Park. Follow the Park entrance road a long, long way to its end at Gun Road. Go left and follow around the Avalon pavilions (keeping them on your right) and drive a mile to the end of the road at the Orange Grove Pavilion. If Orange Grove parking won’t come up on your GPS, try the Avalon area and follow River Road from there. This is a shady and sweet area with a suspension bridge across the river. Park entrance fee is $2, unless you have a $10 Senior State Park Pass(Which takes as week to order and receive online).
