About this event
Keeping with the interest in experimenting with blends,
this session of the Teach & Taste will feature two unusual blends.
Our first blend will be a Bordeaux blend, perfect for any time you would like a white wine.
Most people when they think of a Bordeaux blend think of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with another one or more of the other Bordeaux reds. But the blend for this Teach & Taste will be made from the two very popular white wines from Bordeaux:
Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillion. After tasting each wine individually and a blend of the two,
you will break into small groups and experiment making your own blend.
The second, rather unusual blending experience will comprise of a blend of the
Rhône’s most popular red, Syrah and most popular white, Viognier.
You can become very creative experimenting with these two wines. What would a splash of Viognier do to Syrah? Or what would a splash of Syrah do to a Viognier? Depending on how much Syrah you add to Viognier you could end up with a rosé colored wine. In either case, both of these Rhône blends would be perfect to enjoy with autumn foods.
